◾BLACK TUESDAY ◾
Following my content calendar, this was not the post I´ve planned for today but Encounters is based in realities and the main focus is to humanize de subway, always looking for and portraying plurality. I couldn´t resist to pronounce myself about everyhting that´s going on right now in the world.
A not so friendly reminder: there is no way to be neutral in so clear racism fact that happend last monday. Repeat with me: there-is-no-way-to-be-neutral. It was a public murder of defenseless person . Casually, that person was a black man. Enough.
I copy paste a text of @catesthill “I’m sorry. I’m sorry I didn’t speak up before, I’m sorry I didn’t advocate enough, I’m sorry it took yet another heartbreaking loss for us to wake up.(...), I promise to do better. We made this broken, unjust world, blindly shattered it into fragmented pieces with our selfish ways and born privilege, now let’s try to put it together again”
As an optimistic person, as an optimistic project that is Encounters I´m sure there is no way back. This a painful beggining but it is something. “I´m not black but I see you but I hear you, I mourn with you.
I´m not black but I will fight for (with) you”
Under any situation of injustice you have to act, I have to act, it´s our duty. The world as we know it, is falling apart (fortunately) and we have seen proofs of it. For a plural future where women, trans, gays and black people never be afraid.
We are building the future, people, we are. No doubt about it
About the black squares using the hashtag #blacklivesmatter : it's a plot to get rid of the hashtag and all of its content.
The entire hashtag is now just black squares and all the original informative content is hard to find.
Take this down, let´s make noise, don´t be muted
