Flipping the script, one UGH moment at a time 👌🏻 & one quick phrase that’s holding Andy and I accountable 😎
. “Of COURSE the moment we decide to walk outside, it decides to DOWNPOUR & HAIL STORM” ~ O R ~ “Thank goodness for all the natural lighting if we’re gonna be stuck inside, and yay for an extra hour to get work done so I can unplug earlier!”
. “UGH, I will we still had access to our gym” ~ O R ~ “Thank goodness we have a variety of options still available that need little to no equipment so we can still feel like we’re making forward progress with our fitness goals”
. “UGH, I JUST WANT TO HANG OUT WITH MY FRIENDS!” ~ O R ~ “Thank goodness for all of these social apps, like ZOOM and HouseParty where I can virtually see my friends, play online games, celebrate birthdays, and still catch up!”
And the list goes on 🙌🏻 YES, there is a LOT to be upset and frustrated by, don’t get me wrong. BUT, the more moments we CAN find the silver lining in, the LESS frustrating this all seems.
The phrase that’s been working well for Andy and I? Anytime either of us say something that is along the lines of “UGH / This is so annoying / I’m so frustrated…” We hold each other accountable by letting each other feel the feels (cuz that’s important too!), but then: . “K, now follow it up with THREE positives” 😎💓.
Yep. THAT SIMPLE 🙏🏻 It might take a second, but there hasn’t been a moment yet where this didn’t leave us feeling better 🙏🏻
WE GOT THIS! 👌🏻👌🏻
