This is a different topic than I’m used too, in fact I never bring up virology or even pathology unless for pointing out evidences of evolution which I usually talk about. Though like creationists I’m fed up with politics (especially in America) and just the media spreading false information. Of course it seems that America is kind of going slower then the rest of the world, and even news medias like Fox News changed their stance faster than dear old Trump. Which has advocated in multiple conferences on February 10th, that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, will go away in the summer, along with a virus usually used as comparison and you’ve probably guessed it, the flu. Although SARS-CoV-2 is NOTHING like the Flu other than it’s symptoms, although Trump said that it was a common theory that it will go away in the summer when it gets warmer, but what theory did he get this from? Health officials don’t think this at all! Trump even described it as miraculously going away, except the Flu doesn’t go away in the summer, it just goes dormant, all viruses follow a bell curve. So it is possible that COVID-19 will start to subside here, but it won’t go away, and 0 evidence suggests that it will subside during the summer. That’s more of a wacky speculative assertion. We don’t know when it will hit it’s bell curve, and we already know that it will come back probably even mutated as evolution takes it’s toll. So where did this information come from? Well it came from a list on Facebook which was then spread shared through social media. The author claimed to know a guy who’s uncle was a health official, and then claimed that this new virus is weak in temperatures between 26-27 degrees. Of course anyone who knows any better should know how much bs this is, because the average body temperature is 98.6°F (37°C). Also this virus has spread tremendously in tropical parts of Asia where it is always very hot, so this argument can definitely be put to rest. The original author was tracked down and interviewed on BBC news and he claimed that everything he posted he “genuinely believed” to be true, and I think we all know that science overrides belief in every way possible.
