Try this 20 minute HIIT routine out next time you want to hit legs and burn calories. This is a 6x2x3 program: 6 moves, done 2x each in a row, repeated for 3 rounds. You'll need a HIIT timer app on your phone, or just eyes on a clock that tells you seconds. HIIT has two phases, a working phase and a recovery phase. Your working phase will be 20 seconds, and your recovery will be 10. Your goal is to push as hard and as fast as you can during the working phase, and to catch your breath on the limited recovery. Start with move A, and do it for 20 seconds followed by a 10 second break. Do this with move A twice, then repeat with moves B - F. Then take a one minute break. That was one round! Repeat the entire thing for 3 rounds. some of you have messaged me that you've been doing these workouts, I would love for you to record it and then tag me on your post. Challenge a friend! A) Squat to lunge
B) Triple pulse lunge hop
C) Lunge to kick, right
D) Sumo criss cross hop
E) Lunge to kick, left
F) Switch lunge burpee, I'm demonstrating the low impact but feel free to add that hop!
I'm 25 weeks pregnant in my second trimester, and these moves were comfortable although I did slow down for the lunges. If you are a mama trying this, you might change the rest periods to 20 seconds, and go a little slower. If something doesn't feel right, it isn't, respect your body. .
