What's the difference between a pivot and a flip flop? Sounds silly, but it could be the difference between failure and survival.
A pivot, where the business is concerned, is a reaction to a challenge or opportunity. More importantly, it usually has a vertical element to your business, the product or service, the market Or processes in place.
A flip flop, on the other hand, is a knee jerk reaction to capitalize on a trend that doesn't necessarily relate to your existing business. It may succeed, but will likely face several challenges.
The main difference is one strategy builds off of your existing brand and the other doesn't.
