I don’t think the world recognizes black men enough. I love @asekyb hashtag #meetmyblackhusband. This fine honey isn’t my husband (yet 😉), so, #meetmyblackboyfriend.. . He’s kind. He’s hardworking. He’s gentle. He loves unconditionally. He’s uplifting. He’s loving. He’s a great daddy. He’s black & he’s forever worthy of being treated equal.. . He’s the love of my life & for him I’ll fight with all I got.. . I always ask him “do you ever get scared”? He always answers with “nah babe, I’ve been black all my life”.. . It always puts a knot in my throat hearing that because I know he’s experience hate throughout his life & he always makes sure to treat everyone with respect. I honestly don’t know people can look at him & see a threat. I really don’t. This man is so kind! He’s such a beautiful soul! He may look mean & intimidating but he’ll bend over backwards to help someone if he can.. . A dear friend of mine once told me “If you can be anything, be his peace. The world already tries hard enough to tear him down, make sure that when he comes home he feels safe”. That hit me.. . I love you, papa, always.
