That phrase typically refers to a mindset of knowing and remembering where you came from or started to keep perspective as we grow and venture in to new and unknown territory. It has helped so many people stay connected to their morale and ethical views in good times and bad. Doing this keeps their mental state healthier.
Now let's take that same principle and shift it to the health of the body....
Staying connected to the earth which is what we need for basic life functions, think breathing (trees give us oxygen), the sun supplies with vital nutrients(vitamin D)as well as supplies the earth with light and heat. Another key component that is not studied enough but has promise is the connection we have between cells refered to as the "living matrix". A few studies have shown an improvement to this network when grounding. Our cells communicate better, faster and with more clarity......if that is true then it should improve all functions within the human body from immune system, to the vascular system including the heart as well as pain and muscle soreness. In top of that a few studies have shown increased energy which again makes sense if we believe that grounding or earthing improves the "living matrix"
The best thing about this is all you need to do is take off your socks and shoes...
All possible benefits with little to no downside
Here is how you do it:
1. Go outside to a field, park or forest
2. Take of your socks and shoes
3. Walk around, run around or just sit on the ground
4. Relax, breath and enjoy it
I know more studies still need to be done to really prove all of this but if the logic fits and it's so easy....why not???
