Never be afraid to go explore. My best moments in life were manifested from just being plain curious. Usually it’s a curiosity about following a road sign saying there’s a lake 5-10 miles that-a-way. Sometimes I find nothing but most of the time, I find heaven on Earth.
When I became a mom, I had to learn to do it a new way. I had to of course be more cautious but also most outdoor strategy shifted. Gear purchases were not so much for me but for the kids and for what made my desires (aka hikes and outdoor adventure) do-able. “How do I get a baby 7 miles into a high mountain trail??” They have gear for that. Trust me. And it’s awesome!
Never forget your spirit just because your spirit wants to also be the best mom in the world. Although one of the highest callings in life and a noble deed, you can’t lose sight of your self. .
You. Just. Can’t. Again... trust me. Talk about a recipe for disaster and results that are the exact opposite of your mom goals. A dimmed inner light = a dimmed mama. Shine for your babies! Shine bright. Do what you gotta do, even if it means putting a 20 lb. baby in a 5 pound pack and having her hitch a ride on your back for hours. And some places like this one are SO easy to acces. All of this was literally steps from our parking spot 😱😍🙌🏼 Or - if you were an avid adventurer like me before kids - remember you have the skill sets to handle shit. So go drive to a place you’ve never been before, yeah maybe it’s out of cell service on a somewhat technical road - but you know the drill. Tell people you love where your going, bring your gear, lots of water, etc., knowing you’ve got this. Show your kids how badass you are! Plus the look on their faces when you all get to the random high mountain lake you decided to try and find: Solid. Fucking. Gold. God, I fucking love nature!!! Nothing gets me more lifted. Blessings 🙏🏼 .
Thank you to my man for always supporting my adventures, emotionally and physically. He always knows I’m coming home shining bright and never gives me a guilt trip for going to have fun with our girls. Poor guy had to work, but he loves his work so it’s not so bad. .
