We needed to get away and went camping for a few days... Ended up being two. Only pic I took, and the kabobs were amazing! Lake water was perfect.
We woke up to (assuming a bear) our cooler chest knocked about 7 feet from where it was, broke open, and all of our food eaten. The 10 oz filet, leftover kabobs, chocolate for s’mores, etc., and all of our containers destroyed. I’m an Eagle Scout and I know how to camp. Everything was cleaned and sealed locked. I have no idea how that happened, but I’m glad we didn’t encounter the animal. Funny thing, the small red cooler is gone. I looked everywhere. Vanished. I guess the bear had a good grip on the handle, or used both paws to pick it up. Either way, my cooler of 20+ years is gone. I should’ve taken a picture of the site, but I was trying to clean up everything before my wife saw the debauchery. She wasn’t happy. She didn’t even get her s’mores. I was upset about the filet.
No food. We left. Lol.
All of that being said, the wine we drank was great! The Jansz Rosé was a great start. Broadbent Vinho Verde crushed. Grgich Hills Zin so balanced. And then the 1998 Chapoutier CDP. Wow! 🤩 Everything I wanted and more. Reminded me of the Fonsalette I had last year. Spicy, restrained, floral and the fruit. It just kept building over the evening. Superb. 👌🏻🍷@jansztasmania @broadbentselections @grgichhills @m_chapoutier #campingwines #camping #kabobs #cdp #chapoutier #somm #sommlife
