  • A few sculptures I made a year ago (or so) for a show with @quintgallery All of the 3D forms were made using Fibonacci numbers and the golden ratio. I then painted the surfaces of the forms to augment the shape. Each was set on a mirrored surface so they appeared to float in space. There are a few of these still available from @quintgallery and @librarystreetcollective if your interested.

  • Detail shot of an old painting from about 5 years ago. That river of colorful paint at the bottom is from wiping excess pigment out of the belly of the brush in order to get those crisp sharp lines. At times, when done with awareness, all that cleaning feels like a devotional practice to the art gods.

  • Here is little (8x8in) #Psilocin molecule I just finished. Psilocin was first isolated and named in 1958 by Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann. Hofmann obtained the chemicals from laboratory-grown specimens of the entheogenic mushroom Psilocybe mexicana. Hofmann also succeeded in finding the synthetic routes to these chemicals.

  • Playing around with some new ideas here. Feels like a good time to experiment right now. DM me for more info!

  • Leave the white space or fill it in? I almost always end up filling up unused space, but I’m pausing here to think about it...

  • A little (8x8in) #THC molecule, part of the “Home School” series I started at the beginning Covid. School is out for the summer and our kids have gone feral but I am still enjoying continuing this series. DM me for more details! The center of each of those little circles is the location of an atom in a THC molecule, if the molecule where flattened out into 2D.

  • A painting I made in 2016 called “Golden Ratio” for @detroitartcollection with the help of @librarystreetcollective This 19ft diameter painting now lives in the lobby of the Minoru Yamasaki designed “One Woodward” building in Detroit. We had to fold the canvas and paint it one half at a time to get it finished. Sure was an honor to get to make it! Thank you @librarystreetcollective and @detroitartcollection for the opportunity.

  • Which of these 5 colorways is your favorite? It’s the same molecule I just layered the colors in different ways. This will be for a new print that I’m working on of a DMT molecule! (UPDATE: 1 has 43 votes, 2 has 48 votes, 3 has 58 votes, 4 has 16 votes and 5 has 40 votes)

  • Detail shot of a painting I made of a lithium carbonate molecule. Painted in 2013. This painting was part of a series based on molecules and compounds humans take to feel better called “better living through chemistry”.
