  • while most of us are at home right now, I know there are so many people on the front lines for us. Essential workers who are showing up to work everyday, people who have children and grandparents, loved ones with compromised health - people they are worried about too, and yet they still show up to work every day ❤️ I just can’t imagine how scary this must be for them and their families. to all the people on the front lines, from all the first responders, to doctors and nurses saving people’s lives in the hospital and at the same time risking their own lives to do so, to police and Social workers and food delivery and grocery store employees, THANK YOU for your bravery we are all eternally grateful for you ❤️

  • meditation has changed my life in the last few months. I didn’t share this with you guys at the time because honestly I was just trying to be okay, but I was experiencing severe anxiety. it was meditation- it was practicing every single day multiple times a day that has been healing me, and, more than just helping me manage strong emotions like anxiety and stress, it’s making me a better human. not only does it help in times like this with stress and anxiety, meditation is the practice of strengthening habits like empathy, love, and compassion- making you feel more connected to not only everybody around you , but living beings in general like animals, plants, and the earth, which is a living being, itself. In times like these, especially as young people, even if we are healthy, it’s important to practice compassion and help others that could be suffering. We are in this together, let’s not be indifferent to others risk. it’s our responsibility to do whatever it takes to keep everyone safe. Empathy to others’ reality and solidarity could make the difference in hard moments like this. We can’t think that we will be unaffected because we feel young and healthy. we have parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors, and we don’t want to be a part of the problem when we could be part of the solution. So I’d like you to take 10 minutes of your day today to either look up loving kindness meditation on Calm or YouTube. Or just follow these instructions: close your eyes and sit with your spine upright and feel gravity grounding your body to the earth’s surface and supporting you. Take three deep breaths and then begin to just notice the natural flow of your breath. Being aware of breathing in, breathing out. Following every inhale and exhale with your attention. Once your mind has stilled. Picture every human in the world right now, elders, people that have respiratory problems and are vulnerable, picture the people that are vulnerable, picture their families, and say “May you be healthy. May you be safe. May you be free from illness. May you be well.” Repeat until you really feel it in your heart ❤️- love you guys, please stay safe !

  • it’s international women’s day and i wanna share some of the women who have made a huge difference in my life this year - @oprah you’ve unknowingly helped me so much on my journey in the last few years - (watch her commencement address at Spellman college in 2012- it changed my life forever) the lessons you’ve learned plus the knowledge you share through your super soul Sunday podcast, giving us all access to thought leaders that can teach us how to be better and more conscious has changed my life. plus I started a gratitude journal this year! @brenebrown changed me forever when I heard her ted talk on the power of vulnerability and watched her Netflix special “The call To Courage”- “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weaknesses.”. @elizabeth_gilbert_writer I’ve always related to you so much and hearing your masterclass on “Creative Living Beyond Fear” and your relationship with fear this year really spoke to me in a pivotal way! @michelleobama and her perspective of finding your walk, of constantly becoming, and reminding me we’re not supposed to know what exactly our walk is during our 20’s, but just doing your best and making people feel seen along the way is enough, @tarabrach her book radical compassion is about the practice of dealing with difficult emotions with self compassion and it’s literally changing my life, her practice of RAIN really has helped me navigate my anxiety and is helping people self heal everywhere, @tamaralevitt the head of mindfulness and meditation at Calm, your guided meditations and masterclass on Gratitude have helped me so much in the last year, you are changing and training minds everywhere. And of course my mom, whose shown me what it means to love someone. You love me and the people around you selflessly, fiercely, and unconditionally, and I think that’s the best superpower a human can have. Thank you to all the women in the world that inspire us all to grow ❤️
